SAIARD EVNation

Connecting Mobility with a Carbon-Neutral Future, Powering the Net Zero Mission

India has pledged to achieve Net Zero by 2070, with transport and energy transition as critical enablers of this goal. The rapid adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs), coupled with renewable-powered charging infrastructure, offers a transformative pathway to reduce carbon emissions, enhance energy security, and create sustainable livelihoods. The South Asian Institute for Advanced Research and Development (SAIARD), with its longstanding commitment to climate action, sustainable development, and policy research, proposes the EVNation Movement—a national initiative aimed at catalyzing India’s clean mobility transition while ensuring equitable community participation and business innovation.

Our Vision

Powering the Net Zero Mission by establishing a nationwide ecosystem that accelerates electric mobility, enables renewable-powered charging infrastructure, and fosters innovation, skilling, and policy advocacy.

Our Mission

...................

To create a cleaner and greener India by integrating EV adoption, renewable energy, and sustainable business models.

Key Focus

Promote large-scale EV adoption across urban and rural India

Develop a green EV charging network powered by solar, wind, and hydro energy

Support policy frameworks and align stakeholders for India’s Net Zero pathway

Foster entrepreneurship, startups, and skill development in the EV ecosystem

Enable carbon credit generation and sustainable financing models

Create a geospatial monitoring platform to track EV adoption and carbon savings

Climate Change I EV Nation Movement

The EVNation Movement is deeply aligned with the global urgency to combat climate change by decarbonizing the transport sector, which remains one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. Transitioning from fossil-fuel-based vehicles to electric mobility directly reduces carbon footprints, improves urban air quality, and lessens dependence on non-renewable resources. As nations strive to achieve their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement and implement their Climate Action Plans, initiatives like EVNation become crucial enablers of the Net Zero vision.

By uniting stakeholders—governments, industries, financial institutions, and communities—this movement not only promotes cleaner technology but also accelerates sustainable urban transitions, supports green jobs, and enhances energy security. In the face of escalating climate risks, EVNation stands as a powerful collective mission to translate climate commitments into tangible actions for a safer, greener planet.
