CONFERENCE BACKGROUND

Margaret Mead once rightly said that “We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment” because it is the environment on which we the humans are entirely dependent. Environment- Always it has been the life giver and the sustainer. The four major components of the environment- the physical, biotic, social and cultural aspect have encompassed us since the inception of life. Creation has struck a balance to create harmony between Nature and Man. But over the years “change” as the only constant force, has resulted in degeneration and degradation of the environment. Unprecedented growth of human population has taken a toll on environment and disturbed the livelihood of millions who depend on nature for their basic necessities. With climate change crisis looming large we are no longer progressing towards a sustainable future but an impending doomsday that will not only affect life but also life system.

The objective of this Conference is to discuss a burning and relevant topic like climate change, its effect on day to day life and the changing policies we should adopt to protect our civilization. The impact of climate change is varied and manifold and is of utmost importance in present times. By identifying the challenges of climate change, the Conference will help in exhibiting certain avenues to reach a better and sustainable future by creating a greener eco-friendly environment. Finally, it is also a reminder about the need to preserve the environment so as to save the livelihood of millions. The Conference aims to subtly express that “Progress is impossible without change built is the mind-set that needs to be changed to preserve life and livelihood.”

In a word, through this policy making event we will try to find out the existing environmental crisis, to know the policies or initiatives taken by the Govt. still now and to find out the possible long term solutions which we can apply in our planning as a Greener Approach towards Eco-friendly Environment for the betterment of our country.
